Infinition (in'-fin-i"-shun) n.:
1. The state of constant redefinition, unable to be defined or labeled.
2. A great North American metal band.
In the summer of 1991, guitarists John "Shawn" Daniels (then 18) and Matt Duggan (then 20) met at a party where Matt had started in a thrash cover band. A year later, after Matt left that band, he and John combined efforts to start a new band. Auditions were held and Mark Chrzaszczewski became the bassist and Josh Crooms became their original drummer. They began jamming out tunes from bands such as Metallica and Slayer and soon started writing original songs which combined all of the band members' influences.
In 1993, after several gigs, drummer Josh Crooms left the band and auditions were held for a new drummer. The new drummer was Justin Vincent, who stayed with the band until 1995. A few days before a benefit concert to raise money for the family of another band's singer who had died tragically, Justin had injured his hand and was unable to perform, so the band called on Josh who, after practicing with the band for 3 days, performed flawlessly at the benefit concert. Josh then played a couple more shows with Infinition and then both drummers went on their own way. After not being able to find another drummer for the band, the members of Infinition went separate ways.
In November 2009, 14 years later, Matt and John were reunited and contacted Mark and decided to reform Infinition, practicing the old songs as well as writing new ones. After several unsuccessful attempts at recruiting a drummer, Matt started programming drums to be included in the upcoming 2012 album. Then, in January of 2012, after meeting with Matt, original drummer Josh Crooms decided to come back to Infinition and the band has a very positive outlook for what the future will bring.
