AUBURN - Dekalb County musician Alex MacDonald wants to brin a positive messege to his audience when he performs at the Dekalb County Fair Friday.

MacDonald, who goes by the stage name A Mac, will present a show on the fair's downtown stage beginning at 4:30 p.m.

MacDonald categorizes his music as positive hip-hop. "It's very dance friendly and very lyrical," he said.
MacDonald, of Butler is a 2005 graduate of Eastside High School. He has been performing as a musician for four years and branched out as a soloist about two years ago, he said.

MacDonald said that while his music contains heavy bass and piano sounds typical of hip-hop, the lyrics convey a positive messege.

"I'm rapping about stuff that i hope will make a difference. It's about hope and positivity and perseverance and hoping thay people will be themselves," said MacDonald.

MacDonald made his Dekalb County Fair debut last year when he was invited to perform by the Drug Free Dekalb County.

"I got the idea that i should fully go with the positive songs," said MacDonald. I believe in positive thinking and that creates positive outcomes."

Joining MacDonald in Friday's show will be Alexa Stitt and Sarah Banks, along with Third Frame. MacDonald said Third Frame works with Mr. Mixx, the DJ for 2LiveCrew. Third Frame is made up of Dd-Lux, Ry Guy and DJ Spot.
