This week's special guest on Jammer Direct's The Dirty Dozen is none other than Grammy Award Winner  Young MC! In this special hour long conversation with the "Move Buster" sheds alot of light on his career and the market in general. Heavy Young Heathens (heavyyoungheathens.com) are my special guests this week on The Dirty Dozen. In case you've been living under a rock, Heavy Young Heathens are the brainchild of Robert & Aron Mardo. This dynamic duo is a force to be reckoned with.

Their self-titled debut hit the FMQB Top 5 on the album chart, and the single "Sha La La La La" charted at #16 on FMQB. They released their self-titled debut on September 1, 2009, and their new EP, "Make Room For The Youth" was released April 2010, and the 5-song EP debuted Top 5 on the FMQB Specialty Radio Charts and Top 20 on the Mediaguide Radio Charts The album was produced with the band by JP Bowersock (The Strokes/Ryan Adams/Julian Casablancas) and mixed by Ryan Hewitt (Red Hot Chili Peppers/Johnny Cash).

Heavy Young Heathens have supported live: Born Ruffians, Local Natives, Dead Confederate, Ben Kenney (Incubus (band), The Roots), R.E.M. (as Aron and Robert Mardo), Violent Femmes (as Aron and Robert Mardo), The Raveonettes (as Aron and Robert Mardo), and Autolux (as Aron and Robert Mardo).

Two songs from the Heavy Young Heathens, "Who Do You Think You Are" and "Bass Makes Treble", have been included on MTV's Hit Show "Jersey Shore (TV series)".

Heavy Young Heathens' song "Jackie Come Lately", was recently selected to be the theme song for the MTV show "Ultimate Parkour Challenge",and was used by Kawasaki for their in-store advertisements.

988FM		Ryan, I've just read what you said about your opinion about JR, Dirty Dozen and Dose and I must say that Jammer Direct has more than just my participation but also my respect. I work in radio and can honestly say that when someone gets fired they no longer exist at that station anymore. And that you not only come on here and defend JR and The Dirty Dozen and say exactly what happened, which is what JR said on tonights show, btw, truly tells me that this site is built on character. I really hope that JR takes you up o your offer to host the show again but I would like to point out that you are a true friend to have to retire a show that has become so popular in such a short period of time but come on this forum and publicly explain what happened. I believe The Dose will fine but even if no one gives it a chance everyone should know that, just like The DD, it's built by people with character. Claudia15-Jan-11

Ryan		Ok so this is the second post I've ever done on a page. I feel I need to clear the air here. JR was not fired and we are still friends. He took an opportunity so we took an opportunity. I'm sorry to see him go but I'm not going to hold anyone back when anything comes up. The reason The Dirty Dozen ended was because I won't do it without him. At one point JR told me to do the show with another host but that would be sacrilege at this point. And to do that would send a message that the show could survive without him. It can't. And I want it preserved in a way that he can always come back to do the show at any time at a moments notice and that can't be done if the show continued with another host. So, for the record, HE WAS NOT FIRED! And he will always be welcomed here.
And for the record, The Dose is not meant to be a better show. It is a continuation of the evolution of Jammer Direct. The focus is on all of you Jammers who are gracious enough to let us play your original music and showcase it in ways that others can't. The argument currently on this page is testament to that. I'm glad that The Dirty Dozen had that much of an impact. But please realise that the show must go on. The Dose and The Dirty Dozen are like night and day. Totally different.

Ryan		OK, I don't normally post but I have to come to this person's defense. I think it's a compliment that they would ask if The Dirty Dozen is syndicated. The fact that this would even be asked shows that we are accomplishing our mission. I worked in radio for a couple of years and I can honestly say that we do as good a show as fm radio (based on what you said, you agree)at only a fraction of the cost with the bonus of getting more listeners than fm stations in most markets. But it would be counterproductive for JammerStream One to be like an fm station. For us to do the standard remotes like car dealerships and things like that would make no sense for us with our reach being global. It would be a step back at this point to think local or regional. I guess what I'm saying is that we are but are not radio in the traditional sense.17-Dec-10

And now there are SO MANY music artists that they now have 4 streams instead of 2! Because of DEMAND! And Jammer Direct isn't the ONLY website doing this either.
